ENSIGN kick-off meeting
The ENSIGN project (Emerging Nanoscopy for Single-Entity Characterisation), funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Staff Exchanges (MSCA-SE), was officially launched with its kick-off meeting held 4th May 2023 in Szeged, Hungary. The event brought together consortium partners from academia, research institutes and industry to set the foundation for a successful collaboration.
During the meeting, the partners introduced their teams and research expertise, reviewed the project objectives, and agreed on the roadmap for the first implementation period. Special focus was placed on defining the framework for staff exchanges, planning scientific and training activities, and setting up effective communication and dissemination channels.
The kick-off meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the scientific ambitions of ENSIGN, which aims to develop next-generation correlative nanoscopy tools by integrating multiple modalities—force, electrical, microwave, optical, and electron—into a single, non-invasive characterization platform for single-entity analysis at the nanoscale.
With strong engagement from all partners and constructive guidance from the Project Officer, the meeting marked the start of an ambitious and innovative journey. The ENSIGN consortium is now fully committed to advancing the frontiers of nanoscopy while fostering international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral collaboration across Europe and beyond.
